Emotional education is an educational process, with a methodology that is primarily practical, based on introspection, dynamics, games, role-playing, emotional imagination, etc. On the other hand, emotional intelligence is a theoretical framework introduced by Salovey and Mayer in 1990, and popularized by Goleman five years later. Other models of emotional intelligence have been developed since then, so when referring to emotional intelligence precisely, one should refer to a specific model. In general terms, emotional intelligence is the ability to be aware of one's own emotions, regulate them appropriately, and use them for personal benefit. Emotional intelligence is one of the foundations of emotional education, but not the only one. Emotional education has other foundations such as flow theory, emotion theories, positive psychology, neuroscience, etc.
